Mekanism Visit

On my Career exploration visit at Mekanism the work place enviroment was very warm and comfortable it was almost as if you were at home. There work place was similar to our’s , but they didn’t use mac’s. The work place had a great vibe , it seemed as if everyone was chill and had a great sense of humor and were themselves yet they still managed to look very concentrated. I thought it was cool how they had a kitchen and sofa’s where they could just chill.

Two things that I learned about careers in Mekanism is that you have to start from the bottom to reach the top , that really got my attention because that’s a quote for life.  It really suprised me on how fast media can be created and the variety of positions it takes to produce media itself. I don’t think i’m highly interested in a career as in the one Mekanism offers , but on a brighter note it made me realize and take note of the type of work area’s I would like to surround myself in. Overall it was a cool visit and I feel as if it benefitted be whether I had full interest or not.

I also think that DSA is a highschool course is not many can take but it definetly preares you for careers like these. For example Photoshop , Indesign , Final cut etc. Is the the basics to what media constructers do on a daily basis , which is why I strongly believe that multimedia plays a well role and is beneficial.

Imperialism Presentation Day (=

We accomplished a lot of hard work , although there were times we wanted to kill each other and drag one another down the Staircase it was all worth the stress. I felt great and confident , i knew all of my information very well. Everyone did great out there , all of my class mates looked good as well. I learned much about what other groups had to propose , they had great ideas. When i saw everyone up there presenting i automatically said to myself “You got this”. Went up there gave it my all and had fun with it. I really enjoyed Researching the country of Rwanda. Sometimes you learn a lot. For example Child Malnutrition is what we’re aiming for , it made me realize there’s thousands of children that would kill to have food. But witnessing many children in the US putting food to waste makes me realize that we SHOULD really be grateful for what we have. I’m grateful that my group & i won. We really pulled it together and presented with a lot of enthusiasm. With all being said i’m glad i did this project .

Shall i compare thee to a summers day essay.

The poem Shall I compare thee to a summers day is most memorable and effective about love because he describes her beauty and how her beauty will never die. To me that demonstrates love in a way meaning looks are not everything. He says that she’s beautiful in and out. He compares her to a summers. although he says she’s way better. He explains his love towards her through the poem using imagery by appealing nature to her beauty.

The beauty of this poem in my opinion is how he compares her to a beautiful summer day but says she’s way more beautiful and her beauty never dies , because the summer does end buther beauty lives on.

KTVU Reflective Essay

The KTVU visit was an amazing experience. We were greeted well by our first guide, her name was Francis. She showed us around a little bit. Then she took us to a big room where they had many cool cameras and green screens. There was a big wonderful vibe throughout the entire facility. On our tour we were taken to many different areas in the whole facility. Most importantly to the big areas where they mainly operate what is on the news. The whole entire KTVU was a big facility with alot too it overall.

Personally i would work somewhere like this because it looks fun. Not only that but i think the DSA techniques we are learning will be put well into practice at a job or company like this. Also I think the work they do for examle like the 12 ‘o’ clock news seems fun. It looks like a challenge but i would be willing to do it. It also seems like a job where your always occupied and enjoy what you do.

Three things i learned is that one company in order to operate consists of many little duties. Secondly that KTVU only accepts college internships. I also learned that the news cameras on set are robotic. That’s amazing, i did not know those were real. Also I discovered how they memorize all the local Bay area news. I once believed they had to memorize it all. I was wrong they have screens on the camera that slowly scroll down and they read off it. Thirdly woah many directors have shot movies in the KTVU area. That is really Amazing !

Some high school courses that can be taken to prepare yourself for a career like this would be the Digital Safari Academy. Why because we learn to photoshop and many multimedia techniques. Also in this type of career you meet a lot of people. In DSA we do projects where you present in front of an audience and you boost your confidence. Especially if you have to meet people you have to learn to not be shy.

I wish that we would of have been able to play around with some of their equipment for example do practice techniques for the 12 ‘o’ clock news. Overall i had a great experience and learned a lot. Hopefully next time we get to do more hands on things.

College Visit Reflective Essay

Several ways that our college visit at UC Berkeley was what i expected was that there were so many college students. Although in my opinion i thought that the school would of have been less diverse, but it was pretty diverse. They all seemed very independent and some looked really driven into their education and very determined. Many students were studying and not just hanging around, they used their time wisely.

When i was first told we were going on a fieldtrip to UC Berkeley. I thought it would be boring. I really did not care about going to college. I thought why go to college when i can just start my singing career and I’m set. After taking a fieldtrip to UC Berkeley. I’ve realized that even if singing is what i want  to do there are still many programs or majors that I’m interested in. It doesn’t hurt to have extra knowledge

What really surprised me was that i thought college was exactly like high school, but thats where i was wrong. I asked Berkeley students the difference between high school and college. They clearly said in college there’s more pressure on you, all your work depends on you. There’s nobody pushing you or even constantly reminding you what your priorities or responsibilities are but yourself. That surprised me because I’m used to my teachers telling me ,Jesus do your work,Jesus do it or I’ll call your mom. I’m used to teachers not giving me options and just making me do my work.

Berkeley is really cool because it has many programs to offer. They give you many options to make it work for you. Their lunch program is really cool too but different then high school. You can buy lunch points and every point is unlimited food for that point. The dorm options they have there are amazing they have suites or either you get combined with others and some suites even have kitchens. I’m honestly very driven to go to college now [:

My first semester in the Digital Safari

I learned so much first semester and this blog is to reflect on all of that good stuff. First of all in photoshop I learned how to make old pictures look brand new , by using different photoshop tools. For example the clone tool gave me the ability for example to re paste parts of the backgrounds of my images that are damaged too make it brand new by cloning parts of were their is not damage.

Graphic Design- The graphic design was fun , so basically in Ms.Pratt’s class we wrote a ” I am from ” poem. It was chill because i got to make a creative poem.  We made 3 poems and got to pick one. After that we put our poem on a pick that represents or goes with your poem. As well we used different pictures and composed them in one . But their still 3 individual pictures. I blended after i composed with a soft brush to make them look smooth and so you wouldn’t be able to see the lines of the other images on each other.

Photography- was interesting because we got to take pictures of each other and i learned how to focus the camera so the pictures would focus on what i wanted and what i didnt want. Also it was fun taking pictures of miscelleanous objects.

HOOF[History of our Families]- The Family History project was the best Project ever at the moment. Writing my story was not easy i can tell you that . I never had the bond or tried learning/understanding my mom’s past. But when it came down to having to interview her was interesting because I learned so much about her that without this project not even in a million years would i’ve most likely not known. Also when we got more into the picture part of the project is was amazing. knowing that i can damaged images and patch them up. Recording as well was fun because i never been in the studio. Last but not least but putting my video together was a bit hard but fun because i made this project to my taste (; !

grateful for thursday !

i am grateful for technology . without technology  we wouldnt be able too communicate as much with other countries. Also without it we wouldnt be able to keep in touch with people. technology is life nowadays its used during most of our day.

Grateful for tuesday NOV 17 !

I am grateful for today tuesday nov 17 , 2009 some might think the lockdown wasnt a big deal. But honestly deep inside too me it is a bid deal about today. Too some it migh not be. The reason why today im extra grateful is because everyone was alright during the lockdown .  A couple years back i wanted to commit suicide iwas going through a deep deprression im rela glad that god kept me strong throught the whole road and didnt let me fail because without my friends and family and GOD <3 there would be nothing to be grateful about. Being in  a lockdown wasnt scary but it made me think of when i used to cut myself and how i wanted to die but when you think of possiblities of what happened early of i could of got hurt or not made me realize that death is not my path & way to go im grateful to be alive,i am grateful too have a home ! && thats what i am grateful for ! -

from raising me to the person i am now

from diaper days to the 10th grade

to the the teen I am

I’ve made mistakes but i’ve learned

life is hard keep going with no concerns

the climb is hard but the the view is great

i am glad god kept me alive till this day

i am from where mistakes are made

but i learned my lesson

i am from “dont give up”

to “keep yo head high”

my keeps facing down with a huge sigh

i am from a god raised child by a single mother

two different dads that didnt stay

i wonder what did i say

that they’re not here with me to this day
